Beta Lehem is situated in the low lands of Gäyent in an area threatened by drought. Starting from Zuramba one has to walk for about four hours to reach the monastary Beta Lehem, which lies about 65 km south east of Däbrä Tabor.
Bethlehem falls in the jurisdiction of the governor of the sub-province in the village Nafäs Mawtcha and lies just about on the caravan track connecting Gondär across the highland with Dässe
